Sailing under the Stars on the Wadden Sea
Step on board for a special evening trip from Schiermonnikoog and experience the Wadden Sea after dark. During **Sailing under the Stars**, you sail into the evening, far away from bright artificial light and surrounded by the peace and quiet of the Wadden Sea. In November, the darkness at sea can be truly impressive. As there is no moon during this trip, it will be especially dark. On a clear night, this gives you a great chance to see the starry sky. The Wadden Sea is one of the places where you can still truly experience the night, with only the sound of the water, the wind and the ship around you. A star expert will be on board during the trip. They will tell you about constellations, planets, the Milky Way and how people used to navigate by the stars. This makes the trip not only atmospheric, but also fascinating and educational. Around midnight, you will return to the ferry pier on Schiermonnikoog. A unique evening for anyone who wants to experience the island and the Wadden Sea in a completely different way. Departure point The klipper Willem Jacob from Eilandhopper departs from the south side of the ferry harbour, near the small crane and the round white building. You can recognise the Eilandhopper ships by the large Eilandhopper flag. Are you coming by bike? You can park your bike in the special bicycle parking area near the sailing ship, along the fence. Please do not place your bike near the crane or the white building. This area needs to remain clear for cars and trucks going to the ferry, and for the crane used by the KNRM lifeboat service. Make sure you arrive on time. The sailing schedule depends on the tide, so the skipper cannot wait. We recommend arriving 15 minutes before departure.

✔ There are several steps and stairs on board. Please keep this in mind if you are less mobile. ✔ If you have booked lunch and you have an allergy or dietary requirement, please let us know in good time by email at info@eilandhopper.nl. ✔ A minimum of 4 bookings, 24 hours before departure, applies to all our excursions. If the trip cannot go ahead, you will receive a message from the skipper. ✔ Please arrive on time, as we cannot wait. Sorry, but the tide does not wait either. Please plan to be there 15 minutes before departure. ✔ It can be quite cold in November, so a good warm raincoat is recommended. ✔ Coffee and tea are included.

Sailing is always a special experience, especially on an authentic ship! Join us and discover the Wadden Sea by sail. Sailing is suitable for both children and adults. No sailing experience is necessary. Participation is welcome, but not required. There's always someone with experience on board who's happy to explain everything. Don't feel like helping with the sailing? Then you can simply sit on the deck and take in the scenery and truly unwind.
