Sailing Beneath Falling Stars
Experience a truly special evening on the water during the Falling Stars Sailing Trip aboard the historic clipper Willem Jacob. As soon as we leave the harbor and leave the bustle behind us, we sail into the darkness. Far away from artificial light, the night sky comes alive in its full brilliance. You look out over the quiet Wadden Sea while the ship glides gently across the water. On board, an experienced sky guide shares fascinating stories about constellations, meteor showers, planets and other wonders of the night sky. Thanks to the open horizon above the Wadden Sea, these phenomena can be seen clearly and without disturbance. The trip continues until midnight, making it less suitable for very young children, but perfect for anyone who wants to experience the magic of a dark night at sea.

Location
The clipper Willem Jacob departs from Eilandhopper on the south side of the ferry terminal, near the crane and the round white house. Eilandhopper ships can be recognized by the large Eilandhopper flag. If you are coming by bike, you can park it in the special bicycle parking area near the sailboat, against the fence. Please note that bicycles are not allowed near the crane or the white house, due to the access ramp for cars and trucks to the ferry and the crane used by the KNRM (Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution) for the rescue boat in emergencies. Please arrive on time, because we won't wait—no, sorry, the tide won't wait either. Plan to arrive 15 minutes early.

The ship features one large sleeping area with 16 berths, giving you an intimate and memorable night on this classic sailing vessel. Spaces are limited, so early booking is recommended. Your overnight stay includes breakfast and bedding. After an evening filled with stars and silence, you wake up refreshed with views across the Wadden Sea and the first light of dawn over the water.

Sailing is always a special experience, especially on an authentic ship! Join us and discover the Wadden Sea by sail. Sailing is suitable for both children and adults. No sailing experience is necessary. Participation is welcome, but not required. There's always someone with experience on board who's happy to explain everything. Don't feel like helping with the sailing? Then you can simply sit on the deck and take in the scenery and truly unwind.
